Chef Tung, a genius of his culinary craft, was originally born in the southern part of Vietnam and raised in the United States with his parents, being the eldest of his two siblings. Phan’s culinary journey began at the early age of fourteen scrubbing dishes at a family-owned restaurant. Since then, he has been making strides throughout many well renowned restaurants learning from inspiring chefs. After graduating from high school, Phan shortly enrolled in the culinary arts at the French institute Le Cordon Bleu, where he further advanced his skill set. In 2016, he opened his first restaurant Phan’s, honoring his family’s name and his Vietnamese heritage.
Uniquely, Chef Tung has a dual passion for both the culinary arts and the dance, Breaking. He has been dancing since age of thirteen and has professionally competed and showcase his talent in many countries all over Europe, Asia, and North America. He has ‘battled’ internationally numerous times representing Team USA. Also, Phan has performed in the entertainment industry across the world working with High Voltage Ent. and famous theme parks such as Universal Studios & Walt Disney World. He has been featured in popular television shows like ‘Good Morning America.’
Through a visual and flavorful lens of understanding the importance of seizing opportunities, Chef Tung continues to explore many avenues of cultural food appreciation in his travels. With both the culinary prowess and heart for creativity, he continues to outgrow himself daily in order to produce an experience that has never been seen before.
